The conflicting files were some icons and desktop entries provided by default upstream installation right now. They were allocated to {gvim,vim-minimal,vim-runtime}-git in a way solving the dependency issue you ran into. Note making vim-minimal-git and vim-runtime-git would by no means have been a solution as the latter is meant to be a basis used by the former and gvim-git. Also, the purpose of flag out-of-date is what its name states only. Using the flag to poke maintainers about issues in packages isn't necessary as they are informed about comments anyway. Btw. the flag doesn't even make sense with regards to its actual purpose as far as VCS packages are concerned. Their version is updated at build time by function pkgver() in PKGBUILD, so it's common practice to not update variable pkgver in PKGBUILD on a regular basis.

There are conflicting files with vim-runtime-git 8.0.0329-1. The package builds fine, when moving vim-runtime-git from depends to conflicts. Please remove depends from PKGBUILD and add vim-runtime-git to conflicts: conflicts=("vim-git" "gvim-git" "vim-runtime-git" "vim-minimal" "vim" "vim-python3" "gvim" "gvim-python3")
