Why not enable it by default at
.../vimfiles/ftdetect/pacmanlog.vim? autocmd BufRead pacman.log set filetype=pacmanlog(I am a Arch newbie. So I apologize if it is a unknown policy)

Please skip the 'Installing documentation' step - the README is really just a readme, not documentation
