@Tubbles You need to rebuild something, the version of libffi.so that your system had when you built this is gone and you need to rebuild it again against your current system.

Tubbles commented on 2023-03-20 16:23 (UTC)

ImportError: libffi.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

@alerque: I performed the change and have added /usr/bin/wacom-utility.

@dreieck That sounds reasonable, but I am on the road, will be so for another month, and don't have any wacom hardware with me to test anything with. I added you as a co-maintainer, feel free to add such a script.

Can you please add a command line startup script to /usr/bin, e.g. /usr/bin/wacom-utility with the content

#!/bin/sh

python2 /usr/share/wacom-utility/wacom_utility.py "$@"

Thanks for maintaining!

Please don't flag this as out of date when there are no upstream updates. I'm not the maintainer of the project, only this packaging. If you have a newer tablet this is not detecting it's because the upstream project isn't being maintained, this should still work for many older tablets circa when it was released.

also WACOM Cintiq 21UX (DTK-2100) not detected

Is this useful in 2020? Last timestamp update on launchpad was 2011 and can't find a gitlab/hub repo of it. Didn't detect any of my newer Wacoms like Cintiq Pro 32.

@Zeioth Arch packages cannot install anything to your $HOME directory! What it this does to is provide a wacom-utily.desktop file which creates a launcher entry in most DE's menus. That's your easy way to run it without knowing the command.

It would be super nice to put a script named 'wacom-utility' with this content on ~/.local/bin

python2 /usr/share/wacom-utility/wacom_utility.py

So people can run it easily. It took me a while to figure out.
