Doesn't work well for me either. I stick to the old mainstay wmCalClock

This runs on my skylake but the characters are unreadable and not all there. To make it run you have to do wmCalendar in the RUN box in Window Maker.Note the capitals. Also there is no border on the app so it is impossible to move or to kill. This app does not work properly at all.
