Good news everyone: the X16 team upstream just announced they have a preliminary agreement with Cloanto, which means they don't have to rewrite the KERNAL (aka x16-rom) from scratch, and the repos are officially back online! So I'm going to revert the PKGBUILDs as they were before real soon.

Give a huge thanks to Perifractic who made this possible (you can find him on YouTube), and vote for the packages if you like them :)

Update: compilation issue fixed. Version bumped to r45.

Holding off upgrading to r45 due to a compilation issue in x16-emulator.

@Adiee5 The x16-emulator package requires the ROM as a dependency.

why is this even a thing, why'd someone want to install a CX16 rom on a x86_64 IBM PC compatible?

The 8-Bit Guy announced on the Facebook group he unfortunately removed the repositories for the emulator and the ROM until he rewrote the ROM. I posted on the forums about it, this is out of copyright concerns, it contained modified code from the original Commodore 64 and he was unable to contact Cloanto (the current copyright holder) about licensing it.

However, it does look like Michael Steil (whom I know is the main developer) has reposted the repositories on his personal account, so I updated the PKGBUILDs to those.

Unfortunately, the tags are gone and he still haven't retagged r36 on x16-rom like he has done so on x16-emulator, but it's going to work once he have done so. Until then, you'll want to use x16-rom-bin. If there's any problems, feel free to ask me!

Thanks again

Well, then. Anyway, I updated it with the fix in both x16-emulator and x16-rom at the same time I upgraded them to version r32.

I don't know if you already found out, but I forgot to reply. Shared source directory is a standard procedure for makepkg. Thanks!

It might be a problem if both tarballs are ending up in the same directory, but I didn't thought anyone (or any AUR helper) would do that, since I think it might also overwrite each other's PKGBUILDs anyway. Might fix it in a future release if that's really a problem. What helper do you use, if any?
