Fair enough, changed that, thanks for letting me know

Please, remove "xdg-desktop-portal-wlr" from conflicts. This package does not conflict with wlr portal, current PKGBUILD forces wlr portal removal, it can break things for someone who also uses sway or some other wlroots-based compositor.

@alba4k I did use an outdated PKGBUILD file. I tried a clean build with the up to date PKGBUILD file and it works out of the box w/ no errors. Thank You!

sure, will do this as soon as I get home, thanks for the feedback

As for the second question, that's just what I found in another PKGBUILD, I guess I can switch them.

About the hyprland-portals.conf file, it is better you put it inside /usr/share/xdg-desktop-portal/, as xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland does and Arch Wiki says here, and not in /etc/xdg/xdg-desktop-portal where system administrators puts their custom portals.

Moreover, why do you set gtk;hyprland and not hyprland;gtk as default?

That issue should long be fixed, and I'm unable to replicate this. How are you building the package? are you sure you're using an up-to-date PKGBUILD?

The line in question is cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_LIBEXECDIR=/usr/lib -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr -S . -B build -Wno-dev

user's service file is wrong

ExecStart should be: /usr/lib/xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland

not /tmp/makepkg/xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland-git/pkg/xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland-git/usr/lib/xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland

Look at previous comments. Working PKGBUILD has been available since early January. This package could have been fixed with copy/paste.

The current build function is written wrong. Fix by correcting build, not with convoluted hacks in package function.

@pbo I'm unable to replicate your issue, could you try uninstalling and reinstalling the package, making sure to install the AUR one (not e.g. chaotic-aur, as I currently have no control over that)
