Hi Kantras, any news about the updated package or any help which is needed?

Hi Kantras, Can I help with any testing?

kantras commented on 2015-02-12 17:21 (UTC)

Update coming in the next couple of days; system issues and work commitments delayed me being able to run some final tests but will be happening soon.

Hi Kantras, Do you have any idea when you will update the Xen package to v4.5? Do you need help?

I experienced crash with xen and linux 3.18.4 when booting my server crashes and reboots.

Yes, I had the same error and it took me quite some time to fix. For me it had to do with an fix for another issue in the kernel 3.18, which has this as a side effect. Since a downgrade of the kernel is a bit complicated, I have chosen to install the AUR package linux-mainline (Arch Linux). Kernel 3.19 rc4 gave me issues due to the Xen kernel boot parameters not being accepted. However Kernel 3.19 rc5 seems to have resolved all my issues. So my solution/advise is to temporary install the kernel 3.19 rc5 and once the regular kernel 3.19 is released, to revert back to the stable kernel 3.19.

Did anyone see this error message with latest kernel 22 feature-rx-notify is mandatory ?

I will look at that patch when I transition this over to become xen-4.4 (as "xen" will be moving over to match the 4.5 release) Note: I am currently away from my systems so the package update will be delayed until I get back this weekend and can run everything through final tests.

@tritron Are you sure than that patch is needed at all? As far that I know the RAM limit when using VGA Passthrough was fixed sometime during Xen 4.3, as with the xen-4.3 AUR package, I was able to get it working with > 4 GB RAM on a WXP x64 DomU. See this: http://i.imgur.com/a37aoZF.png With Xen 4.4, I had regressions with PCI Passthrough (Sound Card makes nasty noises everytime that it reproduces a sound), and VGA Passthrough was a total no go, this was regardless if I was using 2 GB of RAM or more. Did you successfully managed to get VGA Passthrough working with less than 3.5 GB without the patch and more with it? I would be surprised cause this means yet another regression on Xen 4.4 vs 4.3, through if that patch fixes it we're already covered.

Can this patch be added ? http://xenbits.xen.org/gitweb/?p=xen.git;a=patch;h=d06886694328a31369addc1f614cf326728d65a6 It solves memory limit of 3.5gb when assigning vga card. Without this patch I get not enough resources error 12
