Can you please add yelp to optdepends? I need yelp to use the GUI help.

Still has the wrong checksum The md5sum for the tarball on github is a29cdb23a52afae26bedc9238d6ad87a

The updated checksum should be correct. If you previously built 3.2.12-1 with an aur helper, you probably need to clear the cached source so it'll get the latest tarball.

==> Validating source files with md5sums... xviewer-3.2.12.tar.gz ... FAILED ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check! -> error making: xviewer

If md5sum needs to be fixed in PKGBUILD, where can I get it?

@ion203: Upstream updated the commit when no one was looking for the same tag. You're off the hook. ;)

Not sure how that error slipped through...

Thank you for the comment alfalfa :)

The latest package md5sum does not match the one in the PKGBUILD;

==> Validating source files with md5sums... xviewer-3.2.12.tar.gz ... FAILED ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check! -> error downloading sources: xviewer context: exit status 1

@ion203

Indeed, it seems that my conda python was interfering with the system python. Strange, but thanks a lot for pointing that out.

It seems there is a build error when calling an import from gobject-introspection

This is not reproducible in a clean chroot build. If you're overriding the system python version or packages with some other tool, you need to disable that.
