@qark I've made an adjustment that might help (24.05-3). The installed translator lib was preventing it from being rebuilt, causing the file to be absent.
vala-panel-appmenu-common
will be replaced withvala-panel-appmenu-locale
(optional) andappmenu-glib-translator
(required).vala-panel-appmenu
is a metapackage to install all the other packages. You can ignore it if you don't want to do that. It also makes the main aur page easier to find. Also, in case you don't already know, it's possible to set the variables at the command line (without editing PKGBUILD).

Try to build not in clean chroot with
vala-panel-appmenu-common
orappmenu-glib-translator
installed.Also
makepkg
builds empty (it has only metadata)vala-panel-appmenu
package. What is it for? Do I have to install it?xiota commented on 2024-05-27 07:38 (UTC) (edited on 2024-05-27 07:42 (UTC) by xiota)
@qark I'm unable to reproduce in clean chroot. I need more info to figure out how that error would occur. If you have any older versions of the packages installed, maybe try uninstalling them before rebuilding.
@bluedevil This is a split package that builds for mate, xfce, valapanel, and budgie by default. There are variables at the beginning of the pkgbuild that can be used to selectively disable the ones you don't want. You can also try building in clean chroot.

I am using XFCE. while installing this package I got budgie-desktop not found error, is it normal?

@xiota vala-panel uses appmenu-glib-translator (and appmenu).

@qark Missing file should be fixed now. I opted not to separate
appmenu-glib-translator
because nothing else uses it, and separating it makes the package even more complicated.qark commented on 2024-05-26 10:00 (UTC)
I have disabled
_build_mate
,_build_vala
and_build_budgie
and got thisAlso
appmenu-glib-translator
should probably be in separate package. See https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vala-panel-appmenu-xfce-git.1 2 3 Next › Last »
