Every time I update, it overwrites my ananicy.conf and replaces it with (very) noisy defaults. Can the maintainer please check if the file already exists and if it does, writes the one one as ananicy.conf.new or something like that? Alternative would be to have a mechanism to create a custom conf file that can supersede the default one. Thanks.

Weird, I've been this for quite a while and never had single problem with it.

@PythonNut, i think it's because you system try stop ananicy in the start of processing rules. I add workaround by specify start/stop timeout to 5s,try it.

For some reason, this package delays shutdown for me by about a minute and a half due to a systemd "stop job". Any idea why this is happening?

@Supplantr, thanks, fixed

package() should contain make install. Currently this package doesn't install anything.

@Tjuh, just add something like: zzzz_overwrite.rules: NAME=name NAME=name ... If you specify empty line with name, this rule with this name, will be ignored. I.E. you don't need to delete rules, ananicy allow overwrite rules.

Tjuh commented on 2016-12-04 14:24 (UTC)

Well whenever I compile this pkg, I end up deleting half if not more of the rule files I don't need. Imo it's easier to delete a few unneeded application lines in a central rule file, but like I said, it was a just a suggestion.

Nefelim4ag commented on 2016-12-01 20:33 (UTC)

@Tjuh, more efficient for that? Only that can be achieved by this, is only inode saving in fs So i prefer have file per application, instead of one file for all rules, it's not add any complexity, but add easy overview of "supported" applications.

Tjuh commented on 2016-11-30 21:16 (UTC)

Just a suggestion, but since the rule files in /etc/ananicy.d/ all have the same syntax, would it not be more efficient to have one rule file for all those applications? For example, instead of: /etc/ananicy.d/cmake.rules # family of tools designed to build, test and package software: https://cmake.org/ NAME=cmake NICE=19 IOCLASS=best-effort IONICE=7 /etc/ananicy.d/make.rules # make - GNU make utility to maintain groups of programs NAME=make NICE=19 SCHED=idle IOCLASS=best-effort IONICE=7 etc... /etc/ananicy.d/applications.rules NAME=cmake NICE=19 IOCLASS=best-effort IONICE=7 NAME=make NICE=19 SCHED=idle IOCLASS=best-effort IONICE=7 etc...
