Thank you for the patch SbIR. I have incorporated the changes you made and the solution works. Since QX11Info is not available in Qt5, I will just use your X11Info abstraction class under Qt4 as well since the QX11Info class was used for convenience. An update to this program will be up in a day or two.

The program is built using Qt5 if qmake-qt4 is not specified. There are no major problems for it not to work with Qt5 so I’ve made a quick patch: http://pastebin.com/6KVcs9BM You only need to add widgets to Qt project and replace <QtGui/QApplication> with <Qapplication>. Also there is no <QX11Info> in Qt5 so I use a wrapper for Xlib to replace it.
