Hi grubdoid, acegallagher who expressed interest before was made co-maintainer but didn't show up, even after I reached out over email.

I would be happy to set you up as co-maintainer for the time being and if there are no issues, I'll just sign it over entirely in some time.

As you say, updating the version is trivial at this point, but I no longer have a roaster.

I'm more than happy to maintain as well! Should we flag it as an orphan and let someone else take over? Current version is 2.4.4, so this AUR is way behind...

For any users that need this package in the meantime, clone the AUR, change the version number and SHA256sum to match what's currently available on the Artisan Github releases page, and run makepkg -si.

Hey there. I'm happy to help maintain this package if you need, I'm using it on several arch systems and have been updating my own manually.

Note that 2.0.0 is not compatible with QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland-egl, so if that's part of your environment, run with env -u QT_QPA_PLATFORM artisan.

Actual version is: 2.0.0 sha256sum of deb file is : 62c5fe868343ba05c1470ece3d5e1ea61e9c8feda1d75abbd9526b2dad84eb63

That was a frustrating thing to debug. The problem is caused by the default stripping by makepkg. The designer now seems to work.

Crashes on opening designer. Same version works flawlessly on an Ubuntu install, so I think it must be a dependency missing here or something.

Thanks for the feedback.

You are right, the sha256sums are different. I'm quite sure I installed mine from scratch from AUR with this checksum, and on the github release page it states the release was updated 11 days ago.

Can it really be that the v1.2.0 has been retroactively updated or do I not understand the github UI well enough?

I can't find the original .deb file, but still have the "old" built package. I will try it on my two computers and compare to a build with the latest from github and see what happens.

PS. With the version I have ("old v1.2.0" PKGBUILD checksum), saving has not been a problem.

astramor commented on 2018-02-12 14:11 (UTC)

Can't update the package sha256sums check is failing. After using makepkg artisan is starting, but I get a segmenation fault everytime I'm trying to save. Seems to me like a libary error. By the way thanks for maintaining artisan, I really appreciate it!

Repp commented on 2018-01-21 14:09 (UTC)

Following v1.2.0, all dependencies would have to be updated, which would require creating several new aur packages for those. For this reason, I moved to the upstream binary. At the cost of some extra disk space (for us with matplotlib etc), this should hopefully reduce bugs caused by differing versions.

Since this package likely doesn't have many users, I decided to not create a new one with "-bin" appended. If anybody objects, let me know.
