================ INTRODUCTION (updated) ================

Arx Fatalis[1] is a proprietary first-person role-playing game for Win32.

The game executables have been open-sourced, and meanwhile ported to Linux (and improved) by the Arx Libertatis[2] project. This package provides the latest stable executables released by said project.

However, the game data is still proprietary and can only be acquired by buying the full Win32 version of the game[3]. The following AUR packages exist for installing the Arx Fatalis game data for use with the Arx Libertatis executables, depending on the source:

Yes, u were right, without that option it compiled just fine. Thank you.

smls commented on 2014-05-30 17:29 (UTC)

@Tjuh: Googling for similar error messages suggests that your error may have been caused by one of the compiler processes using too much memory and consequently getting killed by the Linux kernel. If that is the cause, then turning off "Unity build" should definitely help, as should closing other memory-hungry programs (such as browsers) while compiling.

smls commented on 2014-05-30 17:10 (UTC)

@Tjuh: I just confirmed that it still works fine for me. Did you make sure to try it with a clean build directory? Also, maybe it helps to turn off "Unity build" (you need to remove the -DUNITY_BUILD=ON make option inside the PKGBUILD).

Updated to Arx Libertatis 1.1 which has just been released (see http://arx-libertatis.org/releases/1.1 for changes). Enjoy!

@hpstg: Weird, it works reliably for me. The debug out put you posted is not really useful, because it does not contain the part that says where and why the error actually occurred (due to parallel building, it can be several lines before the end). If the problem occurs again, please upload the *full* compile output to a Pastebin site and post the link. Also, if you have customized any compile flags in /etc/makepkg.conf, please list them.

hpstg commented on 2013-07-10 06:09 (UTC)

I tried compiling a second time, and this time it works. I have no idea why.

hpstg commented on 2013-07-10 06:06 (UTC)

I get a compile error, in Arch 64 bit. I am using arx-fatalis-data-gog. Linking CXX executable arxsavetool [ 88%] Built target arxsavetool Linking CXX executable arxcrashreporter [ 88%] Built target arxcrashreporter make: *** [all] Error 2 ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build(). Aborting... ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build arx-libertatis.
