I had to do the following additional command or else lpadmin just complains about being 'Unable to copy PPD file': sudo cp /usr/share/ppd/canonmx870.ppd /usr/share/cups/model/ Maybe a symlink would have been sufficient. Please fix. Thx.

I've taken over maintaining this package and have uploaded a new PKGBUILD that has been updated to reflect new standards for the AUR. I also added extra dependencies to correct for errors in running scangearmp.

PKGBUILD needs to be updated to include a package() instruction. Currently does not build.

I was wondering if it would be a better idea to use 'ar' to handle the deb files rather than deb2targz since most people already have 'ar' from GNU Binutils. It would save people from having to install deb2targz from the AUR especially if they have no other packages that require it. If it is a good idea I modified the current PKGBUILD file and posted it here: http://pastebin.com/tKQaaqm3

@gt_swagger Is the printer working fine on your computer? I installed this driver and the printer is successfully added using wireless connection. But when I submit a job, the printer will says "Processing" and then complete with nothing output, and I don't find any useful info in /var/log/cups. Any ideas?

Add a new printer in CUPS ( http://127.0.0.1:631 ), and you will see a new option for CNIJ Socket. That's what you want to use.

After installing this, I can't get the os to add the right printer. Are there accompanied instructions? I know that the debian and fedora installs have automated scripts.
