I've just checked the build process and everything seems to be working. Perhaps the Daggerfall data files were temporarily removed?

It's fixed now, it looks like the Unity servers were having issues.

The Unity server seems to giving an error code of 500. Trying to download it manually from link provided by the "Live Builds" page is also failing for some reason.

I agree with patlefort that ideally mods should be able to be loaded from a location in the user's home folder, but I have a work around that may be helpful for you in the meantime. However, it will only work for dfmod type mods and requires root permissions to initially set up. I think that a similar process will also work for questpacks, but have not had a chance to test.

A user specific folder can be created in the Mods subfolder. This folder can then be given ownership and permissions to only allow modifications by that user. So long as all the subfolders have read persmissions for the user running the daggerfall-unity application then the programme will show the mods that are in folders which the user has permission to modify. Be aware that if any subfolder cannot be read by the user then no mods will be displayed.

This workaround will not work for any mods that are loose files that need to be placed directly into the StreamingAssets folder. However, I can not see a way to allow this without also giving users permission to change all package data.

This project should support loading mods from the user's folder, maybe you could bring that up to them.

Star-X commented on 2021-02-09 19:46 (UTC)

Only problem with this script is that, as is, it requires root access to change anything in the StreamingAssets folder. This makes modding a much bigger pain than it needs to be. Honestly not sure what can be done to fix it though; symlinking MIGHT work, but I don't know if it's even remotely possible to have each user using a different set of data files.

Also, there's a new version available FYI. 0.11.1.
