easytag-git now builds gnome help files (adding new makedepends=yelp-tools) by default - but is disabled in PKGBUILD:_build_gnome_help="no"

Updated desktop patch - builds just fine now. Give it another try.

Does not compile out of the box for me. Need to disable the mp4 : ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr --disable-mp4 due to some trouble with taglib. When compiling taglib from git, it works well.

Personally I use it to follow the wiki (to keep a standard, maybe) and because looks nice, IMO. Anyway, not important.

I have it as a comment in the PKGBUILD - but I don't see any additional value in it. If you build from git, you follow commits and don't care about point releases.

Just as a suggestion, you could get pkgver with: git describe --always | sed -e 's|-|.|g' | cut -d. -f2- (e.g. 2.1.8.372.ge062c31)
