Since I use Ledger with this, and since there haven't been any recent updates upstream, I have forked the upstream repo and cherry-picked spesmilo/etecrum's fix for the most recent Ledger Bitcoin app, so that Electrum-NMC works with Ledger. To get that, just build the PKGBUILD here:

You can view the forked repo branch here:

Edit: Please note that the Ledger Bitcoin app can only sign namecoin transactions that send NMC. It will fail if you try to sign name transactions or anything that would be considered a non-standard transaction if using Bitcoin. The Ledger Bitcoin app is coded for a small handful of Bitcoin OP codes, and it's really a hack to even try to use it for non-Bitcoin coins in the first place. Do not attempt to use Namecoin with you Ledger for anything important! It won't work!

If you get a python error regarding "AttributeError: 'mpz' object has no attribute 'to_bytes'", you have to either downgrade python-ecdsa to 0.13.3-3, or alternatively, use my electrum-nmc-bin package, which uses the AppImage.
