I've just updated this but under a new name of flirc-bin as this is a binary package; the source is not provided. I'll merge this now.

Just use:

source_x86_64+=("${pkgname}${_pkgver}_amd64.deb::https://apt.fury.io/flirc/${_pkgname}-${_pkgver}-amd64")

to fix the name of the file. I've tested both with file rename and without it and both work, so I'm not sure if the rename is needed here anyway.

That link won't work in a PKGBUILD. Also there is no 64bit version available there. If you can find it, give me a direct link to the binary.

@jsteel @Pietro_Pizzi: As @chbmb posted almost 3 weeks ago, there's a new Flirc deb/rpm repository hosted on gemfury. Here's a direct deb link, containing package version number: https://gemfury.com/flirc/deb:flirc/3.20.3/download

It's been announced on Flirc blog. There's also a reasoning for switching the hosting in the blog post.

I'm hosting the package as I cannot find an upstream URL to point to. I also cannot see a 64bit package for the latest version, so I've done the best I can at this time.

Package ver 3.9.7 is no longer available. Changed _pkgver to 3.11.6 (https://packagecloud.io/Flirc/repo/packages/ubuntu/zesty/flirc_3.11.6_amd64.deb) which resulted in a failed validity check. Any chance to get this fixed?

The repository location has changed. I've adapted the PKGBUILD file from this package to use new repository.
