@tobac: Yeah, you're right! I've just read your answer, but right before I've found post reporting wxPython 4.0.0 (or 4.0.1, not sure) bug on Wayland. But I could not understand one thing. I've tried to install fsleyes from NeuroDebian repositories in Ubuntu 17.10 (which uses Gnome 3.26 by default) and it worked perfectly well. There's only wxgtk 3.0.2 in dependencies.
I guess that switching from python-wxpython-phoenix to wxpython package (it's version 3.0.2, which is sufficient according to requirements.txt file) might resolve the issue for now. But I haven't tried it jet.

@wedjat: Sorry for getting back to you so late. Thanks for reporting, but I think this needs to be reported upstream to wxPython, who are probably already aware anyway.

Same problem with Gnome on Wayland here. On Wayland I get segmentation fault. Not a problem for me, just switched to X11. However, in case it helps you anyhow, here's output, I got in terminal:
"Debug: Adding duplicate image for 'Windows bitmap file' Segmentation fault (core dumped)"

Fixed it, thanks for reporting. (I have no idea why the scipy line was still being changed; I thought I'd gotten rid of this some versions ago.)

python-pillow v5.0.0 has been released, so fsleyes won't start anymore. I fixed it by adding this line to the script:
sed -i 's/Pillow>=3.2.0,<5.0/Pillow>=3.2.0,<6.0/g' requirements.txt
Btw I don't think the scipy part is necessary anymore.

My bad. The problem is not lib32-freeglut but Gnome running on Wayland. If I start Gnome with X server, FSLeyes starts normally.

Weirdly enough, it works for me without lib32-freeglut. I'm currently in the process of installing my FSLeyes package on a freshly installed Arch VM and see if it works there. Though I'm willing to add lib32-freeglut as a dependency anyway if you're reasonably certain that this was the cause for your problem.

lib32-freeglut (https://www.archlinux.org/packages/multilib/x86_64/lib32-freeglut/) seems to do the trick. Docs of FSLeyes only mention freeglut as dependency but do not mention which architecture-version.
Works for me now. Maybe lib32-freeglut should be added as dependency.

Before I found your package, I used the CentOS 6 download from https://fsl.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/fsl/fslwiki/FSLeyes (used version 0.16.0).
Your packed version did never work for me.

I added "python-sphinx_rtd_theme" as a dependency, thanks!
Is this segfault a recent thing? Did it occur with previous versions?
