For those having issues launching fusion-icon because of a wrong library, libcompizconfig must be recompiled and everything will work.

No, this needs to be ignored. Can I send an email asking for it to be deleted?

So this needs merged with fusion-icon? Send an email to the aur-general mailing list requesting a TU merge them.

Just put up a new release that puts all available compiz incarnations in optdepends. I think it's better than not having any dependencies on compiz at all. This change shouldn't cause any problems to anyone.

2013-08-25 15:38 ekce: OK, I see what ccsm does. It uses "optdepends" to tell the user to install a version of compiz. Like this: optdepends=('compiz-pure: option 1' 'compiz-core: option 2') However, which packages should I put in it? Currently, there's compiz-core-bzr, compiz-core-dev, and compiz-core-unity-git in AUR. Plus, a lot of people (including you and me) still have the old compiz-core 0.8.8 installed. Does anyone know if any of these (other than the old compiz-core) work with fusion-icon?

It's worth noting that ccsm was also in the compiz package group that was in the official repos and has been added to AUR. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ccsm/ The way that ccsm's package build writes it's dependencies is it gives users the option of using compiz-core or compiz-pure. I do not know the difference between these two packages as I'm another users who still has compiz-core installed. Here is a small pastebin of the files I grabbed out of the original repos (the groups are listed in parenthesis). http://sprunge.us/iiMA

Sorry for the belated answer - I've been on holidays. According to the Wiki, "compiz-core" has been replaced by "compiz-bzr". Trouble is, I still have "compiz-core" installed on my computer and very little time to mess around with my installation. I suspect there are others with the same problem. So, I'm going to "solve" this by removing the "compiz-core" dependency and leaving it as it is. Let me know if you have any other dependency issues.

Dependancy 'compiz-core' has been dropped to AUR (under the name 'compiz'): https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/compiz/ Or is compiz-core somthing else? Anyways compiz-core isn't available anymore.
