This package follows the Linux enabled fork releases here. Please do not flag it as OOD when the upstream Windows/OSX only Microsoft project updates but when the Linux enabled builds are available from @shiftkey. Thank you.

Installing nodejs-lts-gallium will remove: nodejs
It's annoying ... I cant' uninstall nodejs.
I ca do something?

There is some known issue with this build right now, see my upstream report here: https://github.com/shiftkey/desktop/issues/809

If anybody figures out how to work around this I'm sure upstream or this package as appropriate would take a contribution!

The gist of this is message transfer 'file' not allowed.

Could the dependency on gconf be dropped? It builds and runs fine without it, the github-desktop-bin package also doesn't depend on it

@kv1dr Build in a chroot with only the named dependencies, your system has other nodejs stuff getting in the way. The extra-x86_64-build script from the devtools package will handle most of it for you. Alternatively use the prebuilt package in my user repo. You can add my repo or just on-off install that package with pacman -U https://arch.alerque.com/x86_64/github-desktop-3.0.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst.

What should I do? es6.object.to-string is missing in modules folder.

I'm sorry for the delay getting this updated. I've actually tried bumping it a couple times, but there have been errors with all of the recent upstream releases and I haven't had time to sort them out. I just had a daughter born a few days ago and haven't had any time to hack on this. Patches welcome (here in comments via git format-patch or as PRs on this GitHub repo.

I am having this problem:

I cant login. It keeps loading forever and doesn't login.

I had the same issue described here https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/github-desktop-bin#comment-853517. It can't login with github using the browser. It keeps loading forever.

Also I can confirm 2.9.6 works.

@nursoda It doesn't build with 17.x, upstream doesn't support it.

Note this is only a build time dependency so you don't have to have it on your system to run. Just use makechrootpkg to build this in a chroot (while of course supplying a built version of the AUR gconf dependency) then install it on your system with your preferred nodejs version as usual. If you can't be bothered to build it that way you can always install the one I build from my user repository. That one should install with pacman without needing to mess with anything.
