I came to the same conclusion and choose option. I'll add for now add a post_install to the PKGBUILD.

i see your problem. i looked into the installer, and it has a feature for silent install, but it isnt implemended yet. this might come later, for now it is not usable. there are 2 ways, i see: 1) leave out patch und point users to it via text (i.e. in post_install) 2) make interactive build process, where patching is done manually since patching relies on zenity, a gnome tool that is not installed everywhere, it would have to be a make dependency then. one could patch that away, but thats totally not KISS and a lot of work as well. so i think, staying with 1) for the time being is a sane choice, 2) could be looked into locally, which i will do once i find time for it.

Many thanks for that. My problem is with Witcher 2 is that I can't install the game on my machine. I simply don't have enough space on my root partition ATM. I can make the PKGBUILD without problem though since this is done from my home directory.

i will try to find whether i can be updated on packing time. maybe the patch script has a non-interactive mode, so it can be called from the installer. i report back after.

No problem. Like I wrote before I would love to update the game but I don't know how to add the patch to the PKGBUILD because it is not just extracting it into the game directory and letting it overwrite the old files.

sorry to bug you again, but i just saw, 1.0.0.4 is out.

I've been looking at the patch and I've been told that in order to install the patch you need to run the start.sh in and then it asks you where the you have Witcher 2 installed and then patches it. So I'm a bit unsure on how to put that into the PKGBUILD file. Any suggestions and improvements are welcome as always.

great to have this here, thank you. did you think about adding in the lastest patch? that would be great.
