unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

For some reason this is working fine on my Intel machine but not my AMD using amdgpu and mesa Google Earth has caught signal 11. Major Version 7 Minor Version 1 Build Number 0008 Build Date Jan 17 2017 Build Time 08:58:58 OS Type 3 OS Major Version 4 OS Minor Version 9 OS Build Version 8 OS Patch Version 0 Crash Signal 11 Crash Time 1487117373 Up Time 0.343551 Stacktrace from glibc: /opt/google/earth/free/libgoogleearth_free.so(+0x22eb6a)[0x7ffb7090db6a] /opt/google/earth/free/libgoogleearth_free.so(+0x22ed0d)[0x7ffb7090dd0d] /usr/lib/libpthread.so.0(+0x11080)[0x7ffb715af080] I see mentions of driver issues but only for older versions. Anybody else have this working on AMDGPU+Mesa17?

Native Google Earth Pro: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/google-earth-pro/ Dunno how long it's been there. No news or nothing. Found it accidentally through: https://dl.google.com/linux/earth/deb/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/Packages Installs side-by-side with this.
