I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

✔ NOTE The "Free" Google Earth has been dropped: https://support.google.com/earth/answer/168344?hl=en

Hi, Just edit PKGBUILD on the fly and replace the 2 lines (69 and 70) msg2 "Extracting the data.tar.lzma..." bsdtar -xf data.tar.lzma -C "$pkgdir/" by msg2 "Extracting the data.tar.xz..." bsdtar -xf data.tar.xz -C "$pkgdir/"

I am getting the same error as balwierz. "Failed to open 'data.tar.lzma'".

Worked with default install but no panoramio images. reinstalled with pic fix set to 1 in pkgbuild and compiled libpng with makepkg -i --skipinteg and did sudo rm -r ~/.googleearth/Cache/. crash with following message from google earth: Major Version 7 Minor Version 1 Build Number 0004 Build Date Mar 30 2015 Build Time 22:21:27 OS Type 3 OS Major Version 4 OS Minor Version 4 OS Build Version 13 OS Patch Version 0 Crash Signal 6 Crash Time 1466372294 Up Time 6.34079 Stacktrace from glibc: ./libgoogleearth_free.so(+0x1e8d3b)[0xf72e0d3b] ./libgoogleearth_free.so(+0x1e8f71)[0xf72e0f71] linux-gate.so.1(__kernel_sigreturn+0x0)[0xf76ecbc0] /usr/lib32/libQtCore.so.4(_Z17qt_message_output9QtMsgTypePKc+0x38)[0xf5da84f8] [0xf76d3f10]

Please DO NOT flag out-of-date, unless there's a new version for Linux as well: $ curl -sL https://dl.google.com/linux/earth/deb/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/Packages | grep -Pom1 "Version: \K[^-]*"

@manuelschneid3r, 7.1.5 is for Windows only.

Get it to work with Panoramio pictures working and without crashing. On x86_64 (with nvidia-beta drivers - 364.12) Pre-install Freeimage (aur) Pre-install Libpng15 (aur) **built it manually with: makepkg -si --skippgpcheck (make sure all other dependencies are installed also) Install Google-Earth with yaourt. (Read the PKGBUILD) **Modify PKGBUILD (and enable panoramio fix=1 and 64bit=1) (save it and continue the install) After succesful install (and before first tome run of google-earth) make sure to apply: sudo rm -r ~/.googleearth/Cache/ Run Google-Earth and voila, everything works, no lagging, and no crashes :) ...or use the wine-google-earth-pro version if your lazy from the AUR.

Read the PKGBUILD.
