Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

yes :(

You actually tried what was suggested in the post upgrade?

<deleted-account> commented on 2012-12-11 19:44 (UTC)

so there is no solution yet for ge7 on arch? I also tried the other day to use that tarball, but without success (still signal 11)

Det commented on 2012-12-11 16:25 (UTC)

Apparently somebody was kind enough to redistribute the .8283 in Ubuntu One: http://www.webupd8.org/2012/12/download-google-earth-7-with-fixed.html You can get the tarball from here: http://www25.zippyshare.com/v/79875837/file.html Still crashes on the persian conf, though.

Hey @Det, thanks a lot for packaging GE! Everyone else: be patient, "Google Earth for Linux Fix Coming ‘Shortly’" http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/12/google-earth-for-linux-signal-11-fix-coming

It's not out of date, my dear. The optional slow, buggy 7.0 beta is still here: http://www29.zippyshare.com/v/24125743/file.html

You either don't have the same problem or you're not using 6.2.

kolombo commented on 2012-11-29 09:54 (UTC)

Same problem with `6.2.2.6613-1`, I believe it worked well before. 65-fonts-persian.conf is removed.

Det commented on 2012-11-29 09:49 (UTC)

That _is_ the same one.. which is sincerely quite interesting since the "65-fonts-persian.conf" should be the only one expat is failing to parse. You could go thourgh some other suggestions in here. See if it makes a difference (or just stick to 6.2): http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/earth/dlzBfGl4eKM/discussion
