@jhenson: Not formal testing but I use Joplin everyday as well and also sync to Joplin on my Android phone and Windows PC (when I need to turn it on). No problems to report.

Thanks @tomacrisan!

I don't have a lot of experience dealing with node/electron apps so do let me know if you run into any issues. I use this package daily but I don't use all of the features and can't be 100% sure everything works.

@jhenson: thanks for your work on this package; it's the first time I've been able to build a released version for quite some time.

jhenson commented on 2025-01-25 16:14 (UTC)

nvm was easy enough to switch to so I converted the build to use it and switched to the same node version that upstream uses in their github actions.

I've never used nvm so I'm not sure. Do you know of an example package that can be built with either one?

Can this be modified to also allow nvm rather than just nodejs?

I've removed most of the dependencies of this package since they appear (from my testing) to either be dependencies of electron or just not needed at all. If you use this package, please let me know if I'm wrong and I will add the missing deps back.

Hmm, and just as I say that they add another pre-release.. Then I guess this package will have a usefulness.. Sometimes?

I think you might very well be right about that, same is true for joplin-beta-appimage in that case.

I've updated to 2.14.20 now in any case. Had some issues with libvips which caused issues building sharp (from what I could understand). I moved it from dependency to conflict.. I see quite a few errors with namcap but I'm not very experienced with node stuff so not sure how to solve (or how much of is it false errors/warnings).

The application seems to work on my system.

Seems to be unuseful now. The "beta", linking to the pre-release, is not following joplin's versioning anymore. They are simply rolling out a latest version, and it doesn't seems that this package is useful at this time. Tell me if I'm wrong
