Hi @WoefulDerelict! Please add something like source=("$pkgname-$pkgver.tar.gz::https://github.com/alessio/laditools/archive/v${pkgver}.tar.gz") to the PKGBUILD to avoid source file naming conflicts.

aguadopd: It appears python-yaml used to be a split package and constructed both a Python 3 and Python 2 build. I haven't had time to track down why it was dropped; however, it has shown up here in the AUR. LADITools is Python 2 and I'm not sure how it would behave with the change you suggested. It would probably be better to use python2-yaml from the AUR to prevent the software from misbehaving.

Hi, it seems that python2-yaml stopped being an alias for the python-yaml package, or something like that on April 24. Hence, laditools is not building. Everything goes fine if you change python2-yaml to python-yaml. This is affecting ladish and that is affecting cadence-claudia, at least. I'm not acquainted with package maintenance here in Arch, but can give it a try if someone cannot fix it soon. Thanks!

majorx234: Thank you for bringing the fork to my attention. Unfortunately this is a release package. Your suggestion doesn't properly adhere to Arch Linux's packaging standards or best practices for git sources.

While there are release archives available none of the releases contain the python2-enum34 port; however, the change was minimal and one was able to patch the current release to use python2-enum34.

there is a new repo where the issues with python2-enum is solved https://github.com/alessio/laditools it is ported to python2-enum34 the old repo isn't updated since 2012 here is my suggestion for a PKGBUILD: https://github.com/majorx234/laditools-pkgbuild

New release: I opted to use laditools packaged with latest ladish release. @amstan: that repo appears to store some custom version I couldn't investigate that much, I see it more appropriate for a separate -git package (assuming we really need it).

This repo seems to work: git://repo.or.cz/laditools.git. Warning, you have to replace it in 2 places since there's also a hardcoded git clone line.

laditools should also depend on ladish, not the other way around.

kuroneko commented on 2012-04-29 20:10 (UTC)

Viewing the logs seems to depend on vte. Not sure if the dependency is here or in ladish.

might want to change the dependencies to python2-yaml, since python-yaml is for python v3
