You should add fmt lib as dependency. Thanks

Fix it just now, feel free to add a comment if any other issues.

The checksum of the modified package may have been modified incorrectly.

$ sha256sum 3.2.0.tar.gz
d3d80204bd55c0faf1d81b49669680bad8edbf9f9938fa41d24f20405ca44930  3.2.0.tar.gz

Also, the following error occurs.

 $ makepkg -ics
...
==> Extracting sources...
  -> Extracting 3.2.0.tar.gz with bsdtar
==> Starting build()...
make: *** /home/linux/linux-enable-ir-emitter/src/linux-enable-ir-emitter-3.2.0/sources/uvc: No such file or directory. Stop.
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().

Sorry, that's my bad! I modified the source to quickly fix something. But I forgot that there was a checksum. Sorry @Supdrewin for breaking your work.

@Bevan, thanks!

Is there a reason why chmod and ln are executed in the install script instead of package()? I would very much prefer having pacman be aware of all files and the correct permissions.

@alerque thank you for your expertise ! The package has been updated to follow the guidelines.

This packaging in goofed up. It using a repository with no fixed version as it's source, and yet it doesn't have a pkgver() function. If it did it would be a VCS package, but that already exists elsewhere. This should be changed to only package tagged stable releases and use fixed source packages (whether tarballs or source builds are git archives, they need to be fixed with a checksum or specific SHA).
