I've uploaded a new package; some directories have been moved, but your preferences should remember and keep using the old ones. If you're having problems upgrading or don't care about your preferences, do "pacman -Rn squeezebox-server; rm -fr /{opt,var/cache}/squeezebox-server" (beware that erases your preferences) before reinstalling squeezebox-server. Pank: Could you try installing that new version and see if the plugin-reboot works okay? (Please show me your /opt/squeezebox-server/Logs/ files if it doesn't.) Thanks.

theking2: my mistake; a quick workaround is "chown -R squeezebox:squeezebox /opt/squeezebox-server" but I'm working on a cleaner way of fixing this. Pank: squeezebox-server drops root privileges at startup, so, when it tries to restart itself, it doesn't have enough privileges to write a PID file and... drop its privileges again; I'm not sure how the Debian packages handles that, but I'll look into it. In the meantime, as a temporary workaround, if you really need the restart feature, you can try editing /etc/conf.d/squeezebox-server and replacing "--user squeezebox" by "--user root".

Sorry, I might have been unspecific. When you install/remove/update a plugin the Squeezebox server has to restart. It should be able to take care of it itself, but for some reason it only stops the server. It does not start it again. It is definitely possible to do make this work since the Logitech version (e.g. the .deb) of Squeezebox is able to restart the server properly. You can reproduce it by installing/removing/updating any plugin from the Plugins menu under settings. From the log it seems as if it a permission problem: http://aur.pastebin.com/fQ8cYEnn

I'm sorry: what works using the Debian version of what? I've uploaded a new package (no version bump, the only change is a longer sleep time in rc.d restart); could you try rebuild+reinstall squeezebox-server and see if works any better? If not, please send me your /var/log/squeezebox-server.log and I'll see if I can find the cause of the problem.

I have no idea on how it works. The log does not seem to add anything useful. I know it works using the Debian version. I don't see how I can change timeout in the daemon-file.

I've never used that feature. If it relies on the rc.d script, could you try increasing the sleep time between stop and start in the restart case? Otherwise, maybe having a look at your log file will help.

Am I the only one for whom 'internal' restart does not work? I.e. when the server prompts me to restart after updating/installing plugins I have to start the server manually afterwards.
