Thanks for the news, fragfutter. Although CPAN is now provided for perl-5.18, this excludes ARM architectures. Therefore not much has changed in our package: the build logic and patches are mostly the same as with 7.7. Let me know of any rough edges.

There will be no more official releases from logitech (they basicly dumped squeezebox). It is now more or less a driven by one employee (michael herger) and the community. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?101237-Logitech-Media-Server-7-8-0-now-available http://downloads.slimdevices.com/LogitechMediaServer_v7.8.0/

I have a note in French on compiling LMS-git (in two packages). It is on my GoFlex Home (ARMv5). http://bz31.tuxfamily.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=archlinux:mpd_goflex_home#installer_lms_logitech_media_server

It just means nobody has tested it on armv5. Please try it out and if you find that it works let me know what arch I should add to the array.

I notice that the PKGBUILD specifies arch=('i686' 'x86_64' 'armv6h' 'armv7h') Does that mean it will not work on Armv5tel (TonidoPlug2)? Perhaps due to slow floating point?

Stupid -O2 segfault; let's go with -Os for a change...

vesath commented on 2014-01-25 01:35 (UTC)

I updated the PKGBUILD to use Class-XSAccessor-1.19.tar.gz but makepkg only gets so far as the error below. I might not have the time to look into this quite soon. cc -c -I. -I.. -Isrc -Iinclude -D_REENTRANT -D_GNU_SOURCE -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -fstack-protector -I/usr/local/include -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -march=armv7-a -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=vfpv3-d16 -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -DVERSION=\"0.93\" -DXS_VERSION=\"0.93\" -fPIC "-I/usr/lib/perl5/core_perl/CORE" -O2 -Wall -Wno-unused-value -Wno-format-security Scan.c In file included from Scan.xs:26:0: src/asf.c: In function ‘_parse_file_properties’: src/asf.c:430:3: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault my_hv_store( asf->info, "max_bitrate", newSViv(max_bitrate) ); ^ cc: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault (program cc1) Please submit a full bug report, with preprocessed source if appropriate. There is a version 1.19 at the same location.

Looks like somebody was bad and removed a file from the Internet... I'll hunt a new version of the Class-XSAccessor tarball but this might take a while as I am on a slow connection at the moment. In the meantime feel free to use the armv7h package I built: http://arch.vesath.org/all/
