I'll upgrade to the patch release.
If there are any new bugs I will revert this upgrade.
In both cases I'll orphan this package sometimes next month.

The patch release could fix some stuff but it's also way less tested and won't receive more patches so updating can be a gamble.

can we update the PKGBUILD to use the newer release 0.2407.28-beta that's talked about here: https://www.manyver.se/blog/2024-07-30 and found via the small link here: https://www.manyver.se/download/ It's not a normal release since it only works on linux, but it has some small last patches: https://gitlab.com/staltz/manyverse/-/merge_requests/391

deathtrip had the ffmpeg problem, you could try what I suggested to him. To extract the manyverse-0.2310.9-beta.tar.gz tarball and execute manyverse directly from it.

If it still fails then it's an upstream problem, if not it means that I have to fix that in this package.

the icu error is almost certainly from upstream, some of your SSB feed might be corrupted.

Hm but works on my another machine...

vitaly-zdanevich commented on 2024-06-30 22:56 (UTC)

I did

cp /opt/Manyverse/libffmpeg.so /lib64/

and got another error:

$ manyverse
[0701/025505.102547:ERROR:icu_util.cc(252)] Couldn't mmap icu data file
Trace/breakpoint trap

Any ideas?

Created issue about that on upstream https://gitlab.com/staltz/manyverse/-/issues/2236

I have the same error

libffmpeg.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

on another system :(

Can you try by simply downloading and extracting the manyverse-0.2208.5-beta.tar.gz file ? Once it's extracted you should be able to simply execute the file called manyverse. If it still fail to start that would mean that the error is not specific to this package but to the build or your environment itself.

well, the file is there, but i still get the error...
