There are now two issues here.
-
The tray icon doesn't work. But when I extract the appimage and run directly, the tray icon shows up. I have no idea how to fix this.
-
This package is built with
!strip
option, otherwise it won't work. - Wayland is not supported

The tray icon is missing in my kde desktop too.

The black screen issues occur when using Wayland. If you swap to Xorg at login (presuming you are using a desktop environment) then it ought to work. This is a limitation of the snap - see the note here: https://mathpix.com/docs/snip/linux-overview

I could install this package successfully as well as the snap package on Manjaro. However like Jack011 I also get a black screen when trying to capture a formular. I can select some area but then only the black screen is captured and thus no formular is detected. After selection the screen becomes normal again.
