This package uses system packages instead of bundled packages. Currently mendeley is built with Qt 5.10 but Arch packages Qt 5.11 which leads to crash when opening a pdf inside of Mendeley. As a workaround open pdf's with external viewers.

@neel.basu I'm not sure it is mendeley's fault. When I manually download the 1.19.1 version it works fine so it might be an AUR issue.

@neel.basu I have encountered the same problem. The dev 1.19.2 pkg works fine.

Mendeley 1.19.1 crashes while opening a paper, Looks like its a mendeley issue. Not AUR issue.

I meant nvidia-340xx-utils, but made a mistake :) Hmm not clear to me how nvidia path is picked up... I'll get into it some more when they push mendeley that uses qt5.11.

@akstrfn Don't know, but the nvidia packages installed are only the following, and nothing in env contains 'nvidia'
angelv@comer:~$ pacman -Q | grep -i nvidia => nvidia-340xx 340.107-7 nvidia-340xx-utils 340.107-2
angelv@comer:~$ env | grep -i nvidia =>

I am not entirely sure where does this come from, probably from opencl-nvidia-340xx. Do you have that nvidia path in env
?
angelv commented on 2018-07-06 08:11 (UTC)
@akstrfn Yes, using nvidia-340xx (340.107-7) and my LD_LIBRARY_PATH is empty.

I will maintain this until it stops working, but this package should be considered "legacy" and the new Reference Manager (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mendeley-reference-manager) preferred.

To avoid crashs when opening PDF's, and hangout on exit install
mendeleydesktop-bundled
which packages Qt provided by the upstream.
