I tried the new unit, but it's not working for me:
I think the problem is that without a
-s
argument it uses the default source device. My default device is my physical microphone, but when NoiseTorch is loaded, the default changes to NoiseTorch, because that's what I usually want.So NoiseTorch probably loads, PipeWire switches its default source to it, then NoiseTorch can't use itself. Or maybe it fails in a different way, but it's not working.

2 separate service files for NoiseTorch with PulseAudio / PipeWire are there, please report issues if you encounter any.

Hi, would you like to add a systemd user service to activate noisetorch for default source?
Something like this:

That section of the README was put there specifically because of the AUR packages I was putting together. The maintainer wasn't happy with the early packages. I had made a couple mistakes early on, in terms of patching a couple source files, but also with some best practices regarding packaging in general (these are my first packages so I'm learning!). I fixed the mistakes with the help of some fine arch folks, but this kind of soured the maintainer on arch/aur a bit.
I could definitely reach out to them and see if the package is stable enough to be officially blessed at this point. Perhaps I'll do that after the winter break.

Hi, thanks for maintaining this package! From the README of noisetorch: "Third party packages (like AUR): Please do not use them. [...] If you have been maintaining a third party package for a while and would like it to be blessed as supported, please send me an e-mail."
Just curious, have you considered doing this? I'd be great to have it officially blessed.
