If this 3 -bin pkgs cannot take exactly same ver with browser pkgs, they should just have 2 pkgs with different ABI. Not 3.

Ideally the packager of the opera package would just include a functional ffmpeg library in the package but since that's not possible the options are either build from source or use a slightly mismatched but perfectly functional binary from another source

If proper upstream binary which is not older is impossible, packager should provide self build binary. Or user should build from source.

@noraj
The chromium version given in this package is based off of the chromium version the latest binary make with the same major release is built for, it likely won't match 1:1 with the actual chromium version used by opera. It's only a problem when the next major release of chromium is added to opera, then a package update is necessary

Thankyou. I'll fix sourced based pkgs if I have a chance.

hook cmds seems correct. Source is extracted by
makepkg
automatically, not needed to extract manually.queenbiscuit311 commented on 2025-07-08 06:51 (UTC) (edited on 2025-07-08 07:34 (UTC) by queenbiscuit311)
Actually I'm keeping opera-beta-ffmpeg-codecs-bin un-updated until opera-beta is updated.
EDIT: changed my mind, I already have the changes and the chromium 135 ffmpeg works on opera-beta chromium 133 version so it should be fine and this way i don't have to update it again when the maintainer of opera-beta updates their package.

I've updated it. Confirmed your chmod command works on both install and uninstall. Had to edit it so I can include it with the other two versions of the package without conflicts. Does everything work on your end? If so, I will apply this to the other two versions of this package.
