I use vivaldi-ffmpeg-codecs of Extra repo for some pkg checked by ldd -r bin.

@oech3 @MartinVonReich
The snap package has a few different versions of ffmpeg. I have absolutely no idea what the snap version numbers actually correspond to in terms of actual ffmpeg versions (other than bigger number is newer), but if you just try all of them one should work for vivaldi. You could probably repurpose the pkgbuild for this package to do the job. If I knew how to determine what the actual ffmpeg version numbers were I would be able to make this package's version number more useful.

@oech3
vivaldi-codecs-ffmpeg-extra-bin is available for adoption. You can adjust by yourself.
But, no, Opera and Vivaldi will be using different versions of Chromium and FFmpeg is not cross-version-compatible with different major versions of Chromium. These two needs to be separate . . .
This package is, however, confusing because the versioning for each topic is not specified. Snap is out-of-scope when it comes to version number . . .

Is symlink package via vivaldi-ffmpeg-codecs work? Just for fun.

I'm late but sounds like you guys are using either an arch fork that outdated or an outdated mirror. Should be fixed by now hopefully.

Changing the line in PKGBUILD to p7zip worked, thanx.

@xanadu73
100% Sure it is present in official Arch Linux EXTRA repository: https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/7zip/
If you use an Arch Linux based/derived operating system, you might need to stick with
p7zip
Alternatively you can use my AUR package:
opera-extras
and compile it LOCALly from SOURCE ...shanmu commented on 2025-01-20 19:11 (UTC)
changing 7zip to p7zip works for me on manjaro

@MartinVonReich, are you sure that 7zip is present in the repos? Cos' I got: error: target not found: 7zip
It's the same result for AUR: No AUR package found for 7zip
