@severach:

Sorry, I can't reproduce it. Did you try building in a clean build directory? Could you please paste the complete output?

ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libORBit-2.so.0 is too small, not checked.
ldconfig: /usr/lib/libORBit-2.so.0 is not a symbolic link

I see, thanks for figuring it out! Surprising that the current gnome-common library still suits for compiling orbit2. :) Added gnome-common as makedep in a silent update, once again.

same error, I installed gnome-common and it built fine.

@xiretza: Thanks for the hint, added the make dependency in a silent update.

On a second thought, gnome-common is for Gnome3 and the Gnome2 equivalent is libgnome which, however, would be a circular dependency...

xiretza commented on 2018-09-28 12:38 (UTC)

seems like a makedepends=('gnome-common') is in order:

==> Starting prepare()...
  -> Running autogen. Please wait...
You need to install the gnome-common module and make
sure the gnome-autogen.sh script is in your $PATH.
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in prepare().

happycadaver: That was my temporary fix from revision -4. I thought, I found a better one in -5 but looks like I was wrong.

happycadaver commented on 2018-09-27 17:28 (UTC)

I changed the PKGBUILD (I use part from the Previous Version): libname-server-2.a) noextract=(libname-server-2.a) prepare() { cp libname-server-2.a ORBit2-$pkgver/src/services/name/

Now i have no Problems to Build: Finished making: orbit2 2.14.19-5 (Thu 27 Sep 2018 07:25:35 PM CEST)

confirm pkgrel = 5 problem with libname-server-2.a

clean building directory, both standard and clean chroot give the same error

gcc: error: libname-server-2.a: No such file or directory
