Changes on v2022.418.0 pkgrel 3
  • Fixed crash on beatmaps with videos.
  • Replaced ffpmeg package with ffmpeg4.4
  • Added LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable to desktop file for using ffmpeg4.4 instead of latest one.
  • Reference: https://github.com/ppy/osu/issues/17345#issuecomment-1098132121

  • Moved AppImage to /opt/osu-lazer folder and added launch script for starting it

  • Without this change, game starts without environment variables if ran from terminal and causes the issue described above.

  • Prettified PKGBUILD file.

I play osu!lazer a lot. But when the update comes, I flag the package as outdated and wait a few days for the AUR to be updated, which is not good for me. Do I have a chance to be a co-maintainer to update the package faster?

Could you please modify the package to add the OSU_EXTERNAL_UPDATE_PROVIDER=1 environment variable? This will change the in-game update notification to say "check with your package manager" instead of offering to download the appimage, and will prevent the game from auto-updating once the developers add that feature to the appimage.

@XeonBionic this package doesn't have dotnet as a dependency because it should not need it. Does the official AppImage work for you? Are you sure you are using my package?

Btw, you can install dotnet manually. It's on the Archwiki how to do that. You are most likely running osu-lazer package which has issues with the dotnet in Arch repos.

@DavidHusicka I don't know then. I can't find manual install instructions for arch linux for .NET 5.0. Also looking at the dependency list on this page, I see nothing about .NET...

@XeonBionic I cannot reproduce your issue when I uninstall dotnet-runtime. The AppImage should contain it. Please make sure you are using osu-lazer-bin and not osu-lazer package.

"It was not possible to find any compatible framework version The framework 'Microsoft.NETCore.App', version '5.0.0' (x64) was not found. - The following frameworks were found: 6.0.0 at [/usr/share/dotnet/shared/Microsoft.NETCore.App]

You can resolve the problem by installing the specified framework and/or SDK.

The specified framework can be found at: - https://aka.ms/dotnet-core-applaunch?framework=Microsoft.NETCore.App&framework_version=5.0.0&arch=x64&rid=endeavouros-x64" This should be a included dependency in the first place.

Maybe add the environment variable bdach mentions here? It should improve GC performance on Linux
