The protonmail-bridge package that is being built from source is working again if anyone prefers that :)

@petrmanek due to "https://protonmail.com/bridge/install" I think the latest stable version is 1.3.3

Hmmm, I didn't paid attention to HTTPS :-? Can it be a CDN problem? I don't know, that's weird

Can ISPs cache HTTPS? That sounds like a man-in-the-middle attack, is that really something they can do?

ali.molaei commented on 2020-08-14 16:00 (UTC)

@z0n glan you can install it now, seems like your home ISP have cacheing problems, maybe contact them

I tried both networks on both desktop PC and mobile phone, on my mobile network I always get the 1.3.3 version and on my home network I always get the 1.2.7 version. I was able to download the 1.3.3 version on my desktop PC by using my phone to connect to the mobile network. Very strange. Doesn't seem to be a caching issue on my side.

It looks like you are hiting cached data Are your phone and computer on the same network or the phone is on mobile data? In your desktop browser in proton install page hit ctrl+shift+r and see if 1.3.3. become loaded or not

@ali.molaei Sorry, I thought the link was out of date or something. It's still showing a 404 for me. The download page also only links to the 1.2.7 version of the package: https://protonmail.com/bridge/install

That link works but not the one to v1.3.3.

I just tried to download it via mobile network and there it works? I checked the DNS and both mobile and home connection resolve the same IP for protonmail.com. How is that possible? Load balancer with an outdated mirror?

Edit: The bridge download page also shows the 1.3.3 download when I use my mobile connection.

@zon https://protonmail.com/download/protonmail-bridge_1.3.3-1_amd64.deb is working for me, check your network configuration

and also, use comments for reporting issues, not out-dating package
