@physkets, technically yes, but most closed sourced packages (e.g. spotify) do not include the '-bin' suffix, as proprietery software are always binaries by definition. I do not expect that ProtonMail releases the source code of the Bridge, but if they do I will update this package to compile form source.
Shouldn't the name of this package end with a "-bin"? To prepare for a time when ProtonMail release the source for the application. This package can still stay on.
This is awesome, thank you!
This updated completely wiped my ProtonMail Bridge configuration. Has anyone else experience this?
EDIT: upon further inspection it turns out that after logging into the bridge again with my PM credentials, and changing to split addresses mode I need to open the account configuration for each of my aliases again and enter new passwords into Thunderbird. Not a complete wipe, but annoying nevertheless, especially if this is going to happen with every single update.
@gammahermit, ProtonMail just released an update, I updated the package.
The source package is no longer available from the protonmail site. Edit: updating the version to 1.0.4 in the PKGBUILD fixes it.
@samhh, I would contact ProtonMail about the issue. If the issue is about a missing dependency or another packaging issue I will update the PKGBUILD, but all the dependencies in the official one are included (either explicitly or implicitly).
No luck for me, seems to hang for a while at "Adding account" before giving up and going back to the home screen sans new account.

NOTICE: This pkgbase is now produces two packages:
protonmail-bridge-core
: Containing the core daemon & CLI program.protonmail-bridge
: Containing the Qt desktop application. The second package depends on the first. If you don't have a need for the desktop application, you can now choose to only install
protonmail-bridge-core
.This packaging change should be seamless and no action should be required before or after the upgrade.
Thanks to @ali.molaei and @BenTheTechGuy for the feedback regarding this change!

Just having pass installed with a key set up wasn't enough for me, I had to follow this: https://pychao.com/2020/06/10/update-on-using-protonmail-bridge-on-headless-wordpress-linux-servers/
