Updates:

The new official Linux CLI client is now available. Source code and AUR protonvpn-cli. Please upgrade to this client if possible.

As for this community version, I think it should be maintained here for a while longer as there have still been git changes over the last week. The latest version is 2.2.11. This package is now marked as conflicting with the official protonvpn-cli package.

Note: if upstream changes and the checksum needs to be updated, please try clean building to prevent caches from interfering.

Thanks, @exprez13. It failed via pamac. Updating via bmenu worked just fine. So, all good.

I see the package was updated yesterday. However, I still get the error:

==> Validating source files with sha256sums...
    v2.2.6.tar.gz ... FAILED
==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!
Failed to build protonvpn-cli-ng

This will be fixed later today when I have access to my computer. I believe the change of the project name upstream caused changes in the source tar. Thank you for everyone who reported

Hi guys, as of today, i can't install this package:

==> Validating source files with sha256sums... v2.2.6.tar.gz ... FAILED ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check! Failed to build protonvpn-cli-ng

tried to clean install, no joy

sha256sum integrity check fails for me

I will just add it here, as it wasn't clear for me that I had to use OpenVPN credentials, not account credentials to login.

Hance, if you get the error

[!] Authentication failed.
[!] Please make sure that your Username and Password is correct.

make sure to use OpenVPN credentials (not your account username and password). The credentails are in Account-> OpenVPN / IKEv2 username if you login to ProtonVPN website.

Regarding updates to protonvpn-cli-ng as the new official client is rolled out: the official client is still in beta and, as of this moment, is not available for Arch. Once the app exits beta, its source will be released and we will be able to either update this package or create a new one (the new official client does not yet support all the features of this Community version).

Anyone can feel free to email me with updates at my public inbox: ~exprez135/public-inbox@lists.sr.ht.

Would you consider updating this package to follow the new official tool? This community tool actually broke for me. I can't connect anymore, in fact. It'll connect, but then DNS is totally broken. I can ping IP addresses, but can't resolve google.com. The devs aren't going to fix any of those problems anymore because of the migration to the "official" version.
