Good to know, I just pulled the PKGBUILD-git.proto from abs which should probably be updated.

Oh, I just looked at the actual PKGBUILD, and it is rather outdated. You should not `git clone` "manually": just add the Git repository URL to the $source array. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VCS_package_guidelines for details.

Is there a reason you're not using something like the 4th example at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VCS_package_guidelines#Git ?
