Please don't abuse the out of date flag whenever the source checksums are incorrect. The unfortunate reality is that the upstream Github tarball changes every once in a while. I don't know why; the commit tagged doesn't change. It might be a bug in Github.

I'm working on an alternative packaging that removes the Github sources (and expensive webpack compilation) to work around the issue. In the meantime, the source checksums may be wrong sometimes. Sorry about that.

I flag this as out of date, maybe the maintainer sees this and fixed the SHA on his PKGBUILD...

Confirming that I'm seeing the same issues as @a821 - updating the sha256sum in the PKGBUILD to the value listed below solved the problem.

a821 commented on 2022-08-11 18:42 (UTC)

seems like the sha256sum changed to 30034c742edff0c268d2d09d748bf1daef3a23957fa6dceb6bd847fd80416448

I just tried to build this package, and I get the following error:

File "/var/cache/private/pamac/python-plotly/src/plotly.py-5.9.0/packages/python/plotly/setup.py", line 203, in run
    raise ValueError(msg)
ValueError: Missing file: /var/cache/private/pamac/python-plotly/src/plotly.py-5.9.0/packages/python/plotly/jupyterlab_plotly/nbextension/index.js
npm is required to build a development version of jupyterlab-plotly
==> ERROR: Se produjo un fallo en build().

I have npm installed, and I have jupyterlab-plotly 5.6.0-1.

How can I proceed?

Looks like jupyter 3.4.1 came in today via normal updates and now this builds properly. Sorry for the hassle.

chrislea commented on 2022-05-12 16:33 (UTC)

Confirming I see the same error as @acxz.

acxz commented on 2022-05-12 13:03 (UTC)

I receive the below error:

An error occurred.
ValueError: Extensions require a devDependency on @jupyterlab/builder@^3.4.1, you have a dependency on 3.0.7

Confirming it now builds correctly after this update (5.8.0-2). Thank you!

Upstream has sneakily replaced the tar after I updated the package. The hash has now been updated.
