Thank you @muflone for submitting your suggestion to @anthraxx here, to allow deliberation instead of going for my earlier deletion request.
I am not an infosec guy so I don't know how useful this exploitation tool from 2015 could be as of today.
But I've found a newer, also Python based alternative (last released in 2020):
https://pypi.org/project/formatStringExploiter/
One other observation that I've arrived at just now:
formatstring
has a CLI, so this should not have had the 'python-' name prefix as per current guidelines; whereasformatStringExploiter
seems to be an importable library only.(The latter is not yet available as a PKGBUILD based package.)

@anthraxx could you please remove the python2-formatstring package from python-formatstring pkgbase?
This is currently broken while the python-formatstring package could still be useful
