I don't use Altera anymore so I haven't run Quartus in awhile. As much as I miss the polished feel of Quartus compared to Libero, I don't really have a need to keep it on my machine anymore so if anyone would like to take over maintenance, that would be great. Plus, I'm sure there is a much better way to do the install that I'm not seeing. I think I tried to update the script sometime last year but things weren't working quite right and work has me a lot busier than I'd like.

Hi all Did someone run Modelsim from Quartus Prime V17 successful? I've tried to start and it brings a error: an't launch ModelSim-Altera Simulation software -- make sure the software is properly installed and the environment variable LM_LICENSE_FILE or MGLS_LICENSE_FILE points to the correct license file. But there is no licence required for the free Version. Thanks for ideas or solutions. Tinu

@kyleh I noticed the same last time I was trying to get it working. The installer is freezing in headless mode so we can't get an automated installation unless Altera gets it working again. Your fix sounds like what I was having to do to get the installer to complete. Right now I'd say this package is pretty broken until the installer stops freezing up. Following the installation guide in the wiki is going to work much better.

This is probably a bit late for gunjah, but I noticed that the installer of the last version (17.0) hangs right after the installation of the help files and modelsim. To install everything I first installed all except those two components (just uncheck them when prompted during the manual installation) and after that manually installed modelsim running its installer script (found in the "components" subfolder of the .tar archive).

@duttondj I've been trying for hours to install this. The necessary files are being expanded, but then the installation somehow stops without a warning message. The build folder doesn't grow anymore. I've waited for hours, but nothing happened. I don't need the latest version. I would just like this to work. Can someone help?

So sorry, I've been busy with graduation and a recent move so it was awhile until I had the time to get a computer of mine up and running with enough storage to build this package.
