As mentioned below, libpng12 must be installed on 64bit systems for Quartus to start. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the Quartus PKGBUILD or if it should be a dependency of lib32-libpng12. Also to get the ModelSim component to work I had to install lib32-libxft and lib32-ncurses.

There are many deps meitioned in quartus_install.pdf[1] page 7 which you doesn't include in PKGBUILD, such as zlib,libstdc++5, libice, libsm and so on. And as you make a quartus.desktop file, you may write a .install script file to update desktop database and icon cache, I guess. For 64bit installations to work libpng12 must be installed.

Has anyone else seen the following error trace when trying to run modelsim? Reading /opt/altera/modelsim_ase/tcl/vsim/pref.tcl Bad pointer access... Closing vish. Font treeFont still in cache.

Hi there, to get eclipse-nios2 working on my 64-bit installation I had to install lib32-gtk2 and lib32-libxtst. Could you please add these libraries to the dependency list (at least as optional dependencies to get eclipse-nios2 running)? Thanks for the package! Cheers, einbisschen

Hi joneshf, can you explain more? This package installs Quartus-web-13.0.1.232-linux.tar with MD5 7588ED734761F62EC8F86B07A5ADFFFD as given by http://dl.altera.com/?edition=web I do not see where a licence could expire here?
