I can also confirm that RedWolf's April 12 addition of the CA bundle file resolves the certificate issue. With that, bumping the version string to 2.9.10.1255 successfully builds and executes as expected. I also decided to bring the PKGBUILD up to current packaging guidelines and requirements, mainly to define a pkgver() function that derives the version string from the sourced Debian package and replace the arch-related control statement with the arch-specific source and hash arrays (e.g. source_x86_64). The following patch captures all the changes: http://pastebin.com/erLxr9yw, but you can also see the various concerns separated into respective commits here: https://github.com/jamesan/rescuetime/commits/master. Hopefully the changes can be merged in by simply pushing them here.

my bad... everything works fine after I add the following line to my pkgbuild as recommended by RedWolf on April 12: install -Dm755 usr/share/$pkgname/curl-ca-bundle.crt "$pkgdir"/usr/share/$pkgname/curl-ca-bundle.crt Thank you!

For rescuetime_current_amd64.deb the md5sum I'm getting is bd81f31fbb13a5b73ac5bf41bbf243f6 (I downloaded manually, as download through makepkg -s doesn't work reliably) But this is the exact same value for older version 1230, isn't it? Just for fun I changed .deb to .rpm in the PKGBUILD and in the Preferences, the correct new build number 1255 shows up, but the CA cert path is different in the rpm, so rescuetime doesn't work. Has anyone else gotten build 1255 working?

So what would be the right solution for this? (Note that on my machine rescutime offers to be updated.)

Quick update after my comment yesterday. It doesn't seem to be connecting. Not sure if that's a packaging issue or unrelated.

THIS WORKS: Just to summarize how to make this work. update pkgbuild with Redwolf's pkgbuild info run updpkgsums Then install as normal
