I do not know why, but one thing that's necessary is that aur/googletest-git needs to be installed first (this is not documented anywhere as far as I can tell).
this is different from gtest (in the main arch repos).
One of the building instructions has 4 arguments, but if there's an empty string, it thinks it's only 3 arguments. the gtest (and googletest) seems to interpret some building instructions and may have different levels of strictness.
After installing ros-neotic-rosconsole with additional build flags (https://github.com/ros-noetic-arch/ros-noetic-rosconsole/pull/8), I was able to install ros-neotic-desktop-full without any issues.
Exact steps I took:
git clone https://github.com/daizhirui/ros-noetic-rosconsole && cd ros-noetic-rosconsole
paru -Ui
paru -S ros-noetic-desktop-full
This package is completely broken and fails to install.
Out of interest would it be possible for ROS packages in AUR to be officially supported in the official repository like [extra], [community] etc.?
Some of the dependencies of ros-noetic-desktop-full require ignition-common and ignition-common-3 which have conflicting files and as a result, ros-noetic-desktop-full fails to build.
I primarily use yay but the problem is the same for trizen. These packages are failing to build:

Edit: Solved. The problem is that after installing ros-noetic, python was upgraded to python 3.9, while it was python 3.8 during first installation. REbuilding ros-noetic-desktop-full should fix the issue.
@alvaro893 please post your issue on the respective github repo's issue thread so that we can better track and resolve the issue you are facing.
Won't compile, despite installing the 'git' verions of thouse packages that @acxz mentioned. I used "yay -S ros-noetic-desktop-full". It seems to be an issue with Qt version:
CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:25 (find_package):
Could not find a configuration file for package "Qt5" that exactly matches
requested version "5.15.0".
