@greyone I did some searches and found out this has been reported 3 years ago here: https://github.com/abperiasamy/rtl8812AU_8821AU_linux/issues/12 There are a few suggestions to force the device to be recognised as USB 3 and I will need to test.
Currently I am testing 5.2.9, with success so far. Will update the PKGFILE when I am sure it is working properly.

@zebulon I just decided to check it... As my device is usb3.0 by specifications and I was surprised. Anyway the driver is stable enough.
Also I noticed in 5.2.9 the BitRate is reported with iwconfig.

@greyone: I never checked this value with older versions of the driver to be honest. Has it got incidence on the rate of data transfer, or is it only a cosmetic bug? I am limited by my ISP data anyway, but this could be an issue for network transfer of files.

@zebulon Currently I'm using 5.2.9 version from https://github.com/gordboy/rtl8812au and the device is still recognized as usb2.0:

@bhrgovlh I will check this. One github repository that could be tested is this one: https://github.com/gordboy/rtl8812au It includes the kernel patches, but you may lose the injection and monitor mode code from astsam if required.

@a36233: have you got supplementary CFLAGS or CXXFLAGS in your /etc/makepkg.conf than the arch defaults? It compiles fine here with both kernels 4.11.9-1-ARCH and 4.11.11-1-ck. Which kernel do you use?
EDIT: it looks like you have -Werror=incompatible-pointer-types in your CFLAGS, which makes your compiler throw an error in place of a warning. This is not the default in arch, so you might have added this option in makepkg.conf or yur bashrc, etc. This could be corrected in the code, I will look at it anyway.

@greyone: not sure. Have you tried the other 8812au packages on AUR? Is it specific to my version? EDIT: I see the same bcdUSB 2.00 with my adapter (Edimax 1200ac). I will check other sources to see if I can fix this.
