urxvt: perl hook 0 evaluation error: /usr/lib/urxvt/perl/background: Bareword "urxvt::Color_fade" not allowed while "strict subs" in use at /usr/lib/urxvt/perl/background line 992, <$fh> line 1.

This is perl 5, version 34, subversion 1 (v5.34.1) built for x86_64-linux-thread-multi

Between the end of 2016 and mid 2021 there was not really any development. Only recently something has changed (Releases: 9.25/9.26 in May, 9.29/9.30 in November). So I think nobody has requested new features, at least not me ;)

I dont' use Arch (yet?) but had to create an account here just to thank you for the rxvt-unicode patches. The 24-bit-color patch didn't play well on my build (lots of glitchy rxvt experiences), but building with just the enable-wide-glyphs and improve-font-rendering patches has made such a huge difference in how rxvt looks. Really modernizes the experience and made me actually want to use rxvt as my primary terminal again. Has there been any ask for the devs to make this part of the actual package?

Fun fact: installing libxft-bgra makes color emoji's work in this build of urxvt. Pretty sure it's thanks to the improved font rendering patch.
