sorry that took so long, got busy. this PKGBUILD is now much more similar to the one in the official extra repo, including .desktop files and icons and whatnot.

@captainepoch please do not mark VCS packages as out-of-date unless they are actually broken. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_User_Repository#Flagging_packages_out-of-date

I just tested it again and it installs with a self-reported version of: senpai version v0.4.2-0.20251219111833-333c27ff9ce0

Okay, the upstream repo url has been updated and I've stopped renaming the installed binary. I'm going to create a new package for senpai-git in the AUR and subsequently raise a merge request to bring over this package's comments and votes.

FYI, the senpai-irc AUR package is now named senpai [see this commit), the previous chess-engine claiming the name has been removed. It might make sense for this package to likewise move to senpai-git for consistency. Cheers

Fair point on the naming and good catch on the upstream url (I swear that page once existed). I'll fix both when I'm in front of my personal machine.
